Ros attended the BTCV training day "Community Development
- An Organic Process" held on 20 March at the BTCV London
Training Unit.
A four stage model was introduced with the aim of providing an introduction to the theory and practice of community development.
Briefly this involves:
Stage One - Germination - Initiation and
Planning Projects
Stage Two - Growing - Involving and Empowering Local People
Stage Three - Flowering - Completing and Celebrating Projects
Stage Four - Seed Sowing - Encouraging Further Projects
Most of the participants had knowledge of, or were closely involved with communities in urban regeneration projects, whilst Ros' work is more rurally orientated. Thus a rich exchange of experiences developed. Both, however support BTCV's mission to work increasingly at a local level to support both urban and rural communities to bring about positive change to their environments.

courses and conservation holidays see their website.
