The Cotswold Way has been designated by the Countryside Agency as a National Trail and work is currently under way to bring it up to the required standard. Eleven GVCV volunteers joined the Cotswold Way Works Co-ordinator, Peter for a very enjoyable task on 13th April.

The work involved clearance around, and removal of, 14 old steps and re-building and re-grading some replacements. During the day members talked with passing walkers about the work, the weather and all things rural.

This spring marks the 20th anniversary of the formation of GVCV so it was good to mark the occasion by working for the first time with the Cotswold Way development team on this trail that for 100 miles traverses the county of Gloucestershire.
