It was fortunate that we had plenty of volunteers for the task as this involved work on the section of the Cotswold Way that crosses Leckhampton Hill. We split into groups as the work stations were in some cases several kilometres apart.

We began by dismantling 3 old finger posts at each end and in the middle of the section where the ‘Way’ meets or crosses the highway. These locations were provided with new finger posts. At lunchtime we selected a spot where there are some benches and a fabulous view and we all gathered together to eat our picnics.

After lunch we again separated to erect waymark posts. Since Leckhampton Hill has many different tracks it is anticipated that our efforts will be much appreciated by the increasing number of walkers now enjoying this newly designated National Trail.
