Task Example: Dry Stone Walling

volunteer selecting a stone

Volunteers start by laying out stones in lines so it is easier to view and select the right stone.

laying supporting stones

The wall is constructed using an A-frame to ensure that the wall will be stable and enable water to run off. Large stones are placed on the ground to support the weight of the wall.

volunteers working either side of a dry stone wall
