Gloucester Vale Conservation Volunteers
GVCV has been carrying out conservation work in Gloucestershire for over 20 years. About twice a month, on Sundays, we do tasks including:
- Woodland management
- Scrub clearance
- Tree planting
- Stile and bridge building
- Dry stone walling
- Footpath maintenance
The group is always looking for more volunteers, so why not join us? You don't need any experience as full instruction is given and we always begin with a short safety briefing on the use of tools and equipment. A day’s work in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside is very satisfying and you'd be learning country crafts and helping to conserve the natural environment. Volunteering is free and there is no membership fee.
It's not all work though, we meet socially for pub nights, meals out, wine tasting evenings, ten pin bowling etc.
GVCV is affiliated to the BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers).
