Cotswold Canals Trust

The Trust was set up to restore the Stroudwater Navigation and Thames and Severn Canal. It used to run for 36 miles from Saul to Lechlade, through Gloucestershire into Wiltshire and linking the Severn and the Thames. The multi-million pound restoration project is phased, and already amazing progress has been made on sections to the west of Stroud.

CCT relies heavily on volunteer support. GVCV worked many years ago on the canal. Recently we have worked near to the Sapperton tunnel at the Eastern of the canal, a section very silted up. We’ve helped to transplant saplings actually growing in the canal and replant them further up the bank.
