Stinchcombe Hill

Stinchcombe Hill near Dursley is a large AONB of unimproved limestone grassland. As such it supports a diversity of flora and fauna, notably butterflies. The centre of the hilltop is taken up with a golf course. All around the edge is more grassland with scrub and woodland. This scrub and woodland are continually encroaching on the grassland. GVCV works with the Stinchcombe Hill Trust to help control the vegetation. It is a massive task, but over the years we have made a difference in clearing certain areas.
